A free day of play and games is coming to Aldershot town centre on Saturday 4 August.
Aldershot PlayFest! is being organised by Rushmoor Borough Council and it promises an action-packed day of hands-on activities, play and games for all ages throughout the town centre from 10am to 4pm.
Families can play a giant board game at The Games Shop in Wellington Street, make some sticky slime with crazy scientists, build a masterpiece in a brick-building workshop and get arty with clay, crafts, and messy play activities.
Children can try out some circus skills, watch a puppet show, see a balloon modeller in action and marvel at the magic show.
There will also be opportunities to learn how to save a life with the Community First Responders.
In Union Street, there will be a workshop marquee offering amazing opportunities for families to jump feet first into a world of pure creativity, make new friends and try something new. Youngsters will be able to join in with drumming, jazz dance, martial arts, musical theatre and even lion dancing taster sessions.
Throughout the day, Aldershot Library and Learning Centre will also be holding baby rhymetime workshops and storytelling sessions as part of their Summer Reading Challenge.
Councillor Liz Corps, Events and Civic Pride Cabinet Champion at Rushmoor Borough Council said: "Rushmoor is investing in an exciting events programme across the borough this year and PlayFest! is a brand new event for Aldershot, which will be a great opportunity for kids to get active during the school holidays."
Councillor Corps added: "It's incredible to see such a range of free family activities on offer. There really is something for everyone and we'd like to encourage everyone to join us for this fantastic event."
